Why Box needs you:

The Mobile Foundations engineering team enables Box's frontend engineers to build and deliver essential features for our iOS and Android apps used by millions by providing a best-in-class developer experience, robust shared foundations, and clear guidance for cross-platform development from design to code to production. As the manager of this team, you'll partner with stakeholders to set the roadmap, prioritize tasks, and lead your team to achieve its goals, delighting customers & maximizing impact!

Who you are:

  • At least 2 years of experience as a software engineering manager, leading teams responsible for high-scale production services.
  • At least 5 years of professional software development experience, contributing to the development of full-stack applications and/or distributed systems.
  • Experience building cross-platform frontend applications using a combination of React-Native and native (Swift/Kotlin/React) technologies
  • You excel at aligning and executing new technical ideas, demonstrating an understanding of best practices.
  • Proven experience in driving effective execution with agile processes in a dynamic environment.
  • A people-oriented leader, capable of modeling and fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture.
  • Exceptional at communicating, passionate about technology and committed to raising the bar.
  • Experience working with distributed teams across different time zones is advantageous.
  • Proficient in English.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of experienced engineers in Poland.
  • Define the team's roadmap, execution plans, and take ownership of project delivery.
  • Develop team members through 1:1s, career planning, coaching discussions, and hiring.
  • Uphold values by building a collaborative, inclusive team focused on customer impact.
  • Cultivate a culture of excellence through emphasis on execution, quality, and scale.
  • Organize stand-ups, sprint planning, technical discussions, and manage sprint task statuses.
  • Collaborate with product teams to scope new features, provide project estimates, and inform quarterly commitments.
  • Work with cross-functional partners and stakeholders to ensure the team delivers significant business impact.
  • Represent Box internally and externally.
  • Manage and coordinate the team’s on-call rotation to ensure timely and effective incident response, actively participate in escalated on-call incidents to provide leadership and support, and drive improvements by addressing recurring issues to minimize disruptions.
