What you'll do:

As a Software Engineer in Test (SDET), you will work closely with our NT Desktop development team and report to the Software QA Manager. We are building state-of-the-art solutions for online futures trading, delivering a creative, intuitive, and scalable user experience to our customers. You will contribute by designing scalable test automation frameworks, implementing mocks and stubs, and enhancing our testing capabilities. Successful candidates will be innovative thinkers and talented technicians driven to make a difference in the industry.

In this role, you will:

• Design, develop, and maintain a scalable test automation framework for desktop applications
• Implement mocks or stubs for external dependent components like middleware, databases, and third-party services
• Participate in routine code reviews and proactively work with the development team to improve test code coverage
• Maintain the test suite by analyzing and resolving test flakiness
• Ensure the test architecture is responsive to evolving needs
• Provide single-click batch-test execution and report generation via the CI/CD tool
• Collaborate with and mentor QA team members, developers, and SREs on functional test framework setup, execution, and reporting
• Automate application deployment checkout and build certification processes across environments
• Assist with test documentation and production deployment checkouts
• Embrace and enforce NinjaTrader SDLC and information security standards

What We Look For:

•  5+ years of experience in QA testing and software automation
• Strong understanding of test automation best practices, object-oriented design principles, system testing methodologies, and the software testing lifecycle
• Proficiency in building and maintaining JavaScript-based test frameworks such as WebdriverIO, Playwright, or Cypress.
• Experience testing front-end applications, API services, and relational databases
• Familiarity with Jira or similar defect management tools
• Experience with tools like Jenkins or GitHub Actions is a plus
• Familiarity with BDD tools like Cucumber and device farms testing is a big plus
• Financial trading systems experience is a plus
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills

Bonus points for:

• Experience with financial trading systems
• Familiarity with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, C#, and BDD

Compensation:

The annual salary for this role is $100,000 - 125,000 USD. In addition, this position will also receive an annual target bonus of up to 10%. Bonus pay at NinjaTrader is based on individual performance (50%) as well as company/team performance (50%).  

Salary and bonus earnings are only two components of the total compensation package offered by NinjaTrader. Additional details on our total compensation package and benefits are listed below.
