About the ClientJoin a high-impact modernization initiative for a leading UK PropTech company, where you'll help transform a mission-critical legacy SaaS/TOM platform into a modern, scalable solution. You'll dive deep into classic .NET monolith code to uncover and reshape complex business logic—an engaging challenge for engineers who love problem-solving at the architectural level.
This project offers the rare opportunity to rebuild both backend and frontend from the ground up using modern frameworks, cloud-ready patterns, and clean architecture principles. Expect a strong focus on engineering excellence: analytics and monitoring instrumentation, automated testing, CI/CD maturity, and maintainable code quality. What You’ll Do- Own the overall quality strategy for the modernization program (manual + automation)
- Lead QA activities across frontend (Blazor), backend (.NET services), API, and integrations
- Build and maintain automated UI/API tests using Playwright (C#) and other relevant tools
- Support and continue manual testing for legacy modules and new functionality until automation coverage is mature
- Define QA processes, test standards, templates, and best practices for the team
- Collaborate with developers to shift testing earlier in the lifecycle and ensure testability of new features
- Review requirements, refine acceptance criteria, and ensure test coverage of business-critical areas
- Work with DevOps to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or equivalent)
- Mentor QA engineers and guide the team through best practices for test design, automation, and defect triage
- Contribute to performance, regression, and end-to-end testing strategy
- Participate in release readiness, risk assessments, and quality gates
- 6+ years of experience in QA (manual + automation) with strong experience in web and API testing
- Hands-on test automation experience using Playwright (with .Net and Typescript)
- Solid understanding of .NET applications, including legacy ASP.NET and modern .NET Core/8–10 stacks
- Experience testing WebForms UIs and modern frameworks such as Blazor
- Strong knowledge of test design techniques, defect lifecycle, and structured testing methodologies
- Experience building automated regression suites for UI and API layers
- Familiarity with Azure environments
- Experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines and maintaining a stable automation environment
- Ability to lead, mentor, and drive QA improvements across the team
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Experience with performance testing tools (k6, JMeter)
- Experience testing microservices, event-driven systems, or cloud-native applications
- Exposure to Blazor-specific testing strategies (component testing, state validation)
- Experience with SQL/DB testing (SQL Server / Azure SQL)
- ISTQB or other QA certifications
