Summary

A key position in the company that involves managing complex projects, contributing to designing and implementing processes for the successful delivery of high-quality localisation projects, and ensuring client retention, satisfaction and, ultimately, recurring revenue growth. They will work on translation, transcreation, interpreting, VO and Subtitling projects for Editorial, Marketing, Corporate and Gaming clients.

This is a fast-paced role and requires someone to work on multiple projects, effectively switching focus from one to the other. This role would be expected to work within a tight timeframe, managing many projects with short deadlines and effectively transfer information to various parties. Finally, they would need to be able to organise their time effectively, manage budgets and successfully work with conflicting deadlines.

Key responsibilities

  • Managing full multi-language project cycles from initial quotation to planning, scheduling, budgeting, problem-solving, QC, delivery and sign-off for invoicing, while adhering to VSI processes and quality standards
  • Guaranteeing client satisfaction through the successful management of localisation projects to deadlines and within budget
  • Close financial monitoring and control of projects through budgets, invoicing and change orders, achieving targeted levels of profitability
  • Preparing quotes for complex projects and pro-actively maintaining a thorough understanding of VSI’s core businesses, in order to be able to advise clients on our services and maximise cross-selling opportunities
  • Management of complex or strategic projects involving multiple external and/or internal departments/teams
  • Providing Account Management services to strategic clients.
  • Preparing monthly reports and maintaining Excel spreadsheets for strategic clients and internal use as required
  • Chairing production meetings or conference calls with clients on complex projects
  • Proactively dealing with client complaints and assisting more junior members of the department when replying to clients
  • Offering support to junior members of the team
  • Identification of project/process improvement opportunities
  • Assisting with quotations by providing pre-sales process support, advice and analysis of files
  • Discussing and understanding each client's specific requirements and offering advice if necessary
  • Working with team leads on revising and implementing improvements to operational workflows and processes
  • Assisting with testing of new tools and processes and introducing changes as required

Core skills

  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Effective verbal/written communication with clients, partners and internal team members
  • Proven client-facing experience, preferably working with large streaming platforms
  • Must have at least 2 years’ experience in the localisation and/or media industries in a project management role – knowledge of graphics localization. subtitling and dubbing/VO is a plus
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent preferably in Translation, Audio-visual translation or a related discipline
  • Good Microsoft Office and Internet knowledge
  • Highly motivated, with proven problem-solving and organisational skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work well independently, under pressure, and in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible and adaptable to working in a variety of roles, in a changing environment
  • Knowledge of a foreign language is a plus
  • Working knowledge of a subtitling software is desirable
  • Working knowledge of Trados or memoQ is desirable
