Land Solutions, Associate Project Manager – Railroad & DOT Permitting (Midwest Region)
Job Summary
The Land Solutions Associate Project Manager (APM) will support the execution of projects with a focus on permitting activities, including railroad and DOT/highway permitting, across the Midwest region (WI, IL, and surrounding states). The APM will assist the Project Manager in ensuring permitting requirements are met, schedules are maintained, and deliverables meet client and regulatory expectations. This role involves active coordination with internal teams, clients, and permitting agencies to drive project success.
Essential Functions

Support the Project Manager in developing and implementing project plans, timelines, budgets, and staffing schedules.

Prepare and track permit applications for railroad, DOT/highway, and other regulatory entities.

Collaborate with clients and agencies to facilitate timely approvals and resolve permit-related issues.

Assist with business development and proposal preparation, including researching permit requirements and local regulations.

Coach, counsel, and mentor team members in permit coordination processes.
Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree.

3+ years of experience supporting permitting, preferably within railroad, DOT/highway, or utility infrastructure projects.

Familiarity with state and federal permitting processes and coordination with agencies such as DOTs, FHWA, and rail authorities.

Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
Preferred Location: Wisconsin or Illinois (open to remote candidates within the region)
