Galaxia Technologies Inc. is seeking a Cloud Engineering Lead to design and lead the development of scalable, secure, and resilient cloud-based infrastructure solutions. In this role, you will serve as the technical authority for cloud architecture, guiding the integration of cloud technologies into mission-critical systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to align cloud solutions with business objectives and ensure the seamless deployment and operation of cloud services.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and maintain the overarching architecture for cloud infrastructure across platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and highly available cloud solutions for mission-critical applications.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to define technical requirements, standards, and best practices for cloud adoption.
- Architect and oversee infrastructure as code (IaC) implementations using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
- Provide technical guidance for containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) strategies.
- Ensure adherence to cloud security best practices, including IAM policies, encryption standards, and compliance frameworks.
- Optimize cloud infrastructure for cost efficiency, performance, and scalability.
- Troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure issues, providing resolution guidance to engineering teams.
- Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and trends, driving innovation in cloud architecture design.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, and 10+ years of experience in cloud engineering or architecture; or Master’s degree and 8+ years of experience.
- 10+ years of progressive experience as a cloud engineer and team leader designing large scale/complex enterprise deployment efforts
- 2+ years of commercial industry experience with a proven track record of successfully deploying complex enterprise software projects
- Demonstrated ability to comprehend, structure, and lead large-scale, complex deployment initiatives.
- Expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, with demonstrated experience designing and managing cloud-native architectures.
- Comprehensive knowledge of infrastructure as code (IaC), git driven operations (GitOps), CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps principles and cloud-native architectures utilizing container orchestration and serverless technologies.
- Detailed understanding of network, storage, and security principles including compliance requirements and monitoring tools.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to resolve complex cloud infrastructure issues.
- Effective communication skills for engaging with leadership, stakeholders, development teams, and industry or academic communities.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance and willingness to take a CI polygraph.

Highly Desired Qualifications:

- Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Professional Cloud Architect.
- Experience with hybrid and multi-cloud architectures.
- Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipeline integration.
- Familiarity with advanced logging, monitoring, and observability tools like Datadog, Splunk, or CloudWatch.
- Experience working in government or defense-related cloud environments.
- Experience working in highly classified environments supporting the IC/DoD for operational missions
