About Maddox + You:

We are seeking an experienced, highly organized and detail-oriented State and Local Tax (SALT) Administrator to join our accounting team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring monthly state tax filings are accurate, communicating state tax policy to customers as well as internal teams, as well as all other SALT responsibilities.

More about You:

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain and communicate applicable company sales & local tax policies and procedures.
  • Manage communications within the SALT email inbox.
  • Manage contracts and relationship with Avalara.
  • Address and resolve SALT related software issues reported by Customer Service team members. 
  • Provide support to all company teams for any sales tax related questions.
  • Provide training and/or training support for new Customer Service team members on sales tax processes and issue resolution.
  • Ensuring compliance with all state and local tax laws.
  • Audit resale and exemption certificates.
  • Executing all SALT related close duties.
  • Preparing reports and analyses for monthly state tax filing preparation.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for internal management.
  • Assist the Tax & Regulatory Manager in any SALT related projects.

Experience & Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent (preferred).
  • 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of SALT and Nexus regulations (preferred).
  • Excellent organizational skills and accountability.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Excel and Google Suite (preferred).

Pay: Starting range with bonus:  $60-$75k.  Plus up to $1k/month wellness stipend and other benefits.
