What You'll Do:

Traeger is seeking a Sous Chef to join our team. Traeger Pellet Grills isn’t your average kitchen!! We are a constantly evolving kitchen that helps support all aspects of the business from social media content, events, private dinners, and recipe development! We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sous Chef to join our team specializing in diverse cooking using Traeger Pellet grills. As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in assisting the Culinary Director in all aspects of kitchen operations, with a focus on preparing exceptional dishes using Traeger grills. You will collaborate closely with the culinary team to create and execute innovative recipes, ensuring that our guests, content, and events experience the unique wood fired flavors and versatility of Traeger pellet grills.

How You'll Help Us Win:

  1. Culinary Expertise:
    • Collaborate with the Culinary Director and team in developing and refining recipes specifically designed for Traeger pellet grills to fulfill events, social media content and VIP dinners.
    • Execute cooking techniques that showcase the capabilities of Traeger grills, including smoking, grilling, roasting, and baking.
    • Maintain a deep understanding of Traeger grill features and functionalities to maximize cooking efficiency and flavor profiles.
  2. Kitchen Operations:
    • Work closely with the Culinary Director to oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating.
    • Ensure adherence to food safety and sanitation standards at all times.
    • Assist in inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and storing ingredients and supplies.
    • Collaborate with the culinary team to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment.
  3. Team Collaboration:
    • Support the Culinary Director in training and mentoring kitchen staff on Traeger grill techniques and recipe development.
    • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, encouraging creativity, teamwork, and continuous learning.
    • Communicate effectively with the culinary team to coordinate food preparation and ensure timely execution of events and content shoots.
  4. Recipe Development and Events:
    • Contribute to the creation of seasonal recipes that are elevated by using a Traeger grill.
    • Interact with guests to answer questions about Traeger grills, ingredients, and cooking techniques, providing an exceptional experience.
    • Work closely with our events team to help plan, lead, prep and execute events from 10-2000 guests.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or senior line cook in a high-volume kitchen environment.
  • Strong culinary skills with a focus on grilling, smoking, and barbecue techniques.
  • Self-starter and someone who takes initiative to constantly improve and work more efficient
  • Excellent understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Creativity and passion for developing innovative recipes and menu concepts.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Mainly weekday 9-5 schedule with some nights and weekends needed as business requires
