What is the point of this role?

As a Developer at ANS, you will be given the opportunity to work on a wide range of exciting projects, using the latest technologies and advancements, in a truly agile environment.
You will spend your week ‘on the tools’, attending scrum events, cutting code, and contributing to our projects in all ways.

What will I be doing?

  • Deliver high value outputs regularly
  • Advocate for throughput over output
  • Learning and utilising programming languages, frameworks and development tools
  • Be confident enough to admit when you don't know something and be passionate about finding solutions.
  • Understand that "done is better than perfect" to maintain productivity and progress.
  • Ensure security risks are considered, identified, reduced, and mitigated when designing, developing, testing, and implementing new products & services.
  • A passion for technology and innovation
  • Collaboration experience working with the team to understand project requirements and specifications
  • Knowledge and experience in software development principles and methodologies
  • Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming (OOP) concepts.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills to analyse and resolve technical issues efficiently. This involves the ability to break down problems into smaller components, identify root causes, and propose effective solutions.
  • Be able to adapt to changing technologies and champion change with the team

What will I bring to the role?

  • Experince in a commercial software developer role and able to demonstrate capability to deliver high quality, well principled code quickly – even when under pressure
  • Demonstrate an understanding of agile principles and methodologies like Scrum or Kanban
  • Demonstrate an understanding of DevOps skills and methodologies
  • Exposure to a broad technology landscape – understanding when to build vs use off the shelf capabilities
  • Public and Private cloud experience, (AWS, Azure, GCP, VMware & others)
  • Demonstrate an understanding of Cloud Native principles and approach

What is needed to do the role?

  • A foundation in programming languages, frameworks, and tools relevant to the project or technology stack you're working with (including experience in strongly typed or typesafe languages)
  • You should be an proficient in the core technologies used in the development process and have an understanding of software development principles and best practices.
  • Proficient in one or more programming languages, such as PHP, JavaScript as examples.
  • Familiarity with web technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript or PHP and knowledge of web frameworks, such as React, NestJS, Vue.js, Laravel or Symfony is also valuable.
  • Experience working with one of the below technology stacks,
    • JavaScript based tech stack, including familiarity with TypeScript, Node.js, React & other JavaScript based frameworks, libraries, packages, and tools
    • PHP based tech stack, including familiarity with Laravel & other PHP based frameworks, libraries, packages, and tools
