Our team is looking for an experienced Software Engineer to support application development and algorithm implementation. The successful candidate will be passionate about designing, developing, and applying cutting-edge technologies to challenging problems. The selected individual will report to the Portland, OR office but work on projects with individuals from our Portland, OR office and from our Reston, VA office.  

As a Software Engineer, you’ll engage in the entire software process—from concept to design and demonstration—within dynamic project teams. The ideal candidate will excel in a collaborative environment, contributing to and expanding their skills. Experience in writing maintainable and extensible code is essential. 

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering or related field  
  • At least 3 years of industry experience in advanced software development in a team environment  
  • Experience with C++ and Java programming languages 
  • Ability to communicate design concepts and performance metrics clearly  
  • Desire to learn new technologies and methodologies 
  • Ability to deal with ambiguous requirements and design 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment  
  • US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED; Successful candidates will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information 

Desired Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Applied Math, or related field  
  • Experience designing and implementing user interfaces 
  • Experience with additional languages such as TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, Matlab, or C,  
  • Experience with one or more development tools, such as Visual Studio, VsCode, Eclipse, JetBrains (IntelliJ, CLion), Maven, Gradle, or CMake 
  • Experience working with databases 
  • Familiarity with communication and messaging technologies
  • Experience with graphics technologies
  • Experience working in an Agile methodologies  
  • Active DoD security clearance
