The Job
This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for a highly motivated individual who wants to join a fast-paced and growing marketing team. The ideal candidate has product management experience, a working knowledge of biologics and gene therapy workflows, and is interested in helping scientists leverage cool technology to make their work easier. This is a job for someone who wants to blaze their own trail where the worlds of science and business meet. We offer flexible work hours in an office-occasional model. This role is expected to travel frequently to their home base in either Pleasanton, California or Ghent, Belgium.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with management to create and deliver an annual marketing plan for your instrument
- Make recommendations for new products through our strategic planning process: analyzing customer requirements, market trends, and competitive intelligence
- Participate in new product development from concept through commercialization, bringing the voice of the customer, customer requirements and value propositions to the table
- Work closely with Product Development, facilitate product roadmap decisions, and make sure that commercial objectives are met
- Partner with customers to make your products a key part of their workflows and cultivate customer voices to advocate for your products
- Become the “go to” person for your instrument, the main advocate who can clearly communicate what customers need and translate and communicate to the field or internally
- Create and deliver clear presentations and messages explaining product value in webinars, seminars, video content, and customer interactions
- Own and execute on product training for the sales team
- Build and implement customer facing sales tools with internal/external partners to get it all done
- Take a front and center role in company presence at tradeshows, exhibitions and conferences
Qualifications
- PhD or MS in genomics, biochemistry, molecular biology, bioengineering or a related field; will consider BS with biopharma experience
- 2+ years of life science tools product management, field application scientist, or sales experience
- Inbound marketing experience with a focus on ushering customer technical requirements into product development
- Outbound marketing experience, and the ability to work with Marketing Communications to communicate technical capabilities to the life sciences tools market
- Technical expertise in biopharma and gene therapy bioprocessing and characterization
- Fluency in English required, additional languages are a plus
- Experience with MS Office, Salesforce.com
- Some travel to tradeshows, customer sites, and Unchained Labs offices will be required, up to 30%
Compensation
- The US base salary range for this full-time position is $90,000 - $140,000. This salary range is an estimate, and the actual base salary may vary based on the Company’s compensation
This role is also eligible for our annual bonus or commission program, and comprehensive health and retirement benefit programs.
