Why it matters: The Associate Director, Growth will lead the development and execution of best-in-class marketing programs to drive attendance, viewership, and brand awareness for Axios Events.
Zoom in: As part of the Growth team at Axios, you’ll be collaborating with the Events and Creative Services teams to develop compelling promotions for major industry events. Responsibilities include:
- Planning and executing marketing campaigns to:
- Generate RSVPs and viewership
- Increase awareness and interests of our Events offerings
- Leveraging paid and organic channels such as house ads, email, social media, display, paid search and content marketing.
- Partnering with the Events team to develop plans and messaging and monitor campaign results.
- Collaborating with Audience Development to post on Axios social media accounts.
- Initiating and managing A/B tests to improve conversions and engagements in the registration flow.
- Partnering with the Design team to develop creative assets for various marketing channels, including landing pages, emails, social posts, and ads.
- Creating and deploying marketing emails to attract event registrations.
- Working closely with other Growth team members on cross-promotions, the Product/Tech team on organic acquisition, and the Analytics team on reporting and analysis.
- Reporting campaign results, presenting data-driven insights, and recommending next steps to increase the effectiveness of the marketing campaigns.
- Occasional travel to support event media capture and promotion.
The details: The ideal candidate has an entrepreneurial spirit, a passion for Axios’ mission, and the following skills:
- Experience in marketing live and virtual events
- Exceptional collaboration skills, especially with Product/Technology, Design and Analytics teams
- Strong understanding of audience segments and journey through the conversion funnel
- Strong analytical skills and a knack for using data to make decisions
- Excellent communication and project management skills
- Creative thinking and a bias for action
- Basic understanding of HTML and CSS a plus
- Hands-on experience with Google Analytics, Looker, and/or an ESP a plus
Starting salary for this role is in the range of $76,000 - $105,000 and is dependent on numerous factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, and skills. This range does not include other compensation and benefits. Axios' compensation philosophy takes into account cost of labor differentials across the country. Because this is a remote-optional job posting, this salary range takes into account all possible locations within the United States, but candidates will only be eligible for the salary range for their location.
