SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The Scrum Master plays a key role in driving Agile adoption and execution across a dynamic, fast-paced organization. This position is responsible for facilitating Agile processes, enabling high-performing teams, and promoting continuous improvement in team collaboration and value delivery. The Scrum Master will support multiple teams while fostering standardization, adaptability, and proactive problem-solving. Additionally, this role contributes to advancing Agile maturity across the organization and encourages a culture of innovation, learning, and iterative development.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
· Serve as Scrum Master for multiple IT application teams, ensuring Agile best practices are consistently implemented and continuously improved.
· Guide and coach teams on Agile frameworks, fostering flexibility, iterative development, and a high-performance mindset.
· Facilitate Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives to optimize team performance and delivery outcomes.
· Identify and remove impediments that may block progress, working cross-functionally to resolve issues and enable teams to meet sprint goals.
· Collaborate closely with product managers and business stakeholders to prioritize backlog items, align delivery with strategic goals, and manage evolving requirements.
· Monitor, track, and report on key performance metrics, delivering KPIs and actionable insights to leadership for transparency and decision-making.
· Drive continuous improvement by assessing team dynamics, identifying opportunities to enhance Agile adoption, and fostering a culture of innovation and change.
· Support consistency in Agile execution by driving standardization between teams and aligning processes with organizational objectives.
Collaboration with Enterprise Program Manager (EPM):
· Provide weekly updates to the EPM regarding sprint assignment changes, including rationale to ensure alignment with the roadmap.
· Coordinate with cross-functional teams on projects at risk of shifting sprints to ensure alignment before reassignment.
Product Collaboration Responsibilities (RACI-aligned)
· Informed Participant: Support intake of product requirements and feature ideation; assist in managing stakeholder communications.
· Responsible: Ensure Agile processes are followed; foster team collaboration and morale; facilitate backlog refinement, sprint planning, and retrospectives; monitor progress toward sprint goals; identify and address resource constraints; support continuous improvement and Agile maturity efforts.
· Consulted: Partner with product managers on prioritization, release planning, and refinement of user stories and acceptance criteria.
Other Key Responsibilities
· Evaluate and implement Agile tools that enhance workflow efficiency and communication (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
· Stay current on Agile trends, methodologies, and best practices to support innovation and operational excellence.
· Demonstrate adaptability by adjusting priorities in response to evolving demands, while maintaining focus on delivering business value.
WORKING CONDITIONS
· Primarily working indoors, office environment.
· Less than 10 % travel time.
· May sit for several hours at a time.
· Prolonged exposure to computer screens.
· Repetitive use of hands to operate computers, printers, and copiers.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· High School Diploma
· Certified Scrum Master (CSM), SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), or equivalent Agile certification
· Minimum 5 years’ experience with information technology project management
· High Proficiency with Microsoft programs such as Office, SQL Server and Dynamics
· Understanding of agile methodology and frameworks
· Proven ability to communicate technical information into an easily understood concepts
· Proven ability to act as a business partner across various departments
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· Bachelors Degree in Management or Information Technology
· Experience working in a fast pace, high-growth company
· Minimum 5 years’ experience with information technology project management, preferably with more than one organization
· High Proficiency with programs such as Office and JIRA
· Understanding of agile methodology and frameworks
· Preference for candidates with experience in smaller, dynamic organizations where agility and quick decision-making are key. Candidates who have worked at larger, more established companies may find the fast-paced, less rigid environment at FirstKey Homes to be a challenging yet exciting opportunity, as we operate with much shorter timeframes and a highly adaptable structure.
