About The Company
GROPYUS creates sustainable, affordable, and aspirational buildings for everyone through modular construction and setting a new standard in smart living.
About the Role
You will be part of a highly collaborative product team working at the core of our manufacturing facility, transforming digital models into physical elements at scale.
Product Teams at GROPYUS own what they build, including underlying infrastructure, build pipelines, automated testing, release and rollout management, monitoring, and support. You will be trusted to solve problems efficiently and effectively building on top of a solid architecture and operational foundation and will be encouraged to seek out under-attended topics and assume responsibility for them both within your product area as well as across product areas.
As a Software Engineer, you will be part of a team responsible for integrating and coordinating the PLC, Robot, and 3rd-party systems which manufacture wall and slab elements. You will write software – both alone as well as in pair with your team colleagues, ensure functionality with a solid testing approach and deploy and rollout changes to the live systems. Furthermore, our teams are also responsible for operating and troubleshooting the software they have developed during working hours at the factory.
What you’ll be doing
As a Software Engineer (f/m/d) on the Product Delivery team, you will be responsible for:
- Designing, building, testing and operating software solutions for logistics and manufacturing use cases incl. Robots, AGVs and other (semi) automated manufacturing equipment.
- Working in a hybrid infrastructure environment (cloud and on-prem), managing complex software deployments at scale
- Expanding your software operations mindset regarding monitoring, maintaining, and improving software uptime including reliable updates, latency, and efficiency
- Applying your experience in either PLC or robot programming to build the next level of flexible manufacturing solutions.
- Acting as a bridge between digital product delivery & physical logistics and manufacturing systems, ensuring both are aligned and integrated
What you bring
- You are a software engineer – preferably with a background in manufacturing or logistics systems, PLC or robot programming or software system operations
- You possess practical experience in some / all key areas of modern software development, including infrastructure, observability, testing, deployment pipelines incl. quality assurance, and scaling
- You have worked in companies with strong operational cultures, ideally in logistics or manufacturing – understanding the commercial impact of system downtime
- You are familiar with most of the following technologies:
- Kotlin / SpringBoot
- Kubernetes
- Linux
- PostgreSQL
- Python / Bash is a plus
- OPC-UA / PLC (e.g. TIA) / robot programming (e.g. KRL)
- You are familiar with monitoring and alerting practices for production systems
- You are willing to travel to our manufacturing site in Richen whenever needed and within Germany and Austria for in-person team events
- An unlimited contract with 30 vacation days.
- Flexible, hybrid work: You can work from home or come into the office on the schedule that works best for you. Feel like traveling and working from another location? No problem. Tune into meetings and work from abroad for up to 40 days per year. In addition, flex hours allow you to prioritize important moments in your day.
- Attractive perks and benefits: We offer a company pension scheme, language courses (English/German), and employee discounts with selected sustainable brands. Furthermore, our external partners in mental health support you in strengthening your mental health through anonymous private/group sessions.
- Virtual Shares Program: Participate in the success of GROPYUS through our Virtual Share Program.
- Ownership: You can truly make your mark with your work and contributions – on all our organizational levels. Find your solutions, drive and test them.
- The chance to be part of something big: Our mission is to rethink an entire industry. Join us in reinventing construction and fostering sustainable, affordable living.
- A diverse and enriching work environment: Become a valued member of a wonderfully diverse team of individuals from over 50 countries. At GROPYUS we value inclusion above all, ensuring that everyone feels they belong – no matter their background. In this way, our differences become strengths that help us grow as a team.
