About Traversal

Traversal is the AI Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) for the enterprise—already trusted by some of the largest companies in the world to troubleshoot, remediate, and even prevent the most complex production incidents. Our mission is to free engineers from endless firefighting and enable them to focus on creative, high-impact work.

Our roots remain deeply embedded in AI research, and we’re channeling that scientific rigor and creativity into building the premier AI agent lab for the enterprise. Hence, what we’re proudest of is assembling the most talented yet nicest group of individuals, including researchers from MIT, Harvard, and Berkeley, to world-class engineers from industry: Citadel Securities, Cockroach Labs, Datadog, DE Shaw, ServiceNow, Glean, Perplexity, Pinecone, and more, to take on one of the hardest problems for AI to solve. Without the entire team, none of this would be possible.

The Role

As a Product Manager at Traversal, you’ll help define how AI agents become real, trusted products for engineers operating in high-pressure environments. You’ll work at the intersection of customers, AI research, and engineering—turning powerful, fast-evolving AI capabilities into clear, usable, and reliable workflows.

This is a rare opportunity to build in a truly AI-native environment. Many of the product problems we’re tackling—stochastic behavior, real-time reasoning over petabytes of telemetry, autonomous decision-making—don’t yet have established patterns. You’ll help define them.

You’ll own core workflows such as root cause analysis, alert triage, and topology graph, shaping how users understand and act on massive amounts of data in real time. If you enjoy ambiguity, thrive in technical domains, and want to help invent what AI-native infrastructure products should look like, we’d love to meet you.

Responsibilities
  • Partner closely with customers, engineers, and AI researchers to define product strategy and roadmap
  • Translate emerging AI capabilities into clear, intuitive, user-facing workflows
  • Lead discovery with SREs, DevOps engineers, and on-call teams to deeply understand real-world pain points
  • Own end-to-end product development: ideation, requirements, prioritization, and execution
  • Drive core Traversal workflows like root cause analysis or alert triage.
  • Navigate and productize stochastic AI behavior, ensuring reliability, trust, and usability
  • Help users understand and act on petabytes of real-time telemetry data
  • Balance speed, accuracy, and clarity in high-stakes, time-sensitive product experiences
  • Collaborate closely with design to ensure a cohesive, high-quality product experience
  • Continuously validate product decisions through customer feedback and real-world usage
Requirements
  • ~5+ years of combined experience across product management and/or engineering
  • 1–2+ years of experience in a software engineering or site reliability engineering role
  • Proven ability to lead and organize high-impact initiatives in complex, ambiguous environments
  • Strong technical intuition and comfort working closely with engineers and AI researchers
  • Experience owning products from early definition through launch and iteration
  • Clear communication skills and strong customer empathy
Nice to Have
  • Experience navigating ambiguity and driving outcomes in early-stage or fast-moving environments
  • Experience with SaaS products, including PLG and/or enterprise software
  • Experience building data-heavy or highly technical products
  • Familiarity with AI- or LLM-powered products
  • Exposure to observability tooling, SRE workflows, or on-call environments`
