This is a major innovation from existing video-based courses, because cohort-based courses involve a live instructor, an engaging cohort community and the accountability of a start and end time. Whereas a standard self-paced course has a 5-10% completion rate, Maven's completion rate is closer to 70-90%.
We've raised $25 million from Andreessen Horowitz, First Round, and great angel investors, and are aiming for profitability in the coming years.
