Guardsquare is looking for an experienced Symfony (PHP) Developer to join our web team in Leuven

In this role you would carry sole responsibility over a key component of our SaaS offering. Once created by an external partner, we’ve now taken over its development inhouse. However, we do not possess all the technical expertise necessary to improve it to our products’ needs, since our product development relies on different technology (Go).
We will count on you to bring your specific (Symfony & PHP) knowledge to a team of 11 web engineers, and to carry out important improvements, enabling the future integration of our web based products (Go based). After doing so, you would also get the chance to work on the further development of these products and their features, learning other/new technologies.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in Symfony (PHP) and React, and is interested in sinking their teeth into Go further along the road, if they haven’t done so already.

Responsibilities:

- Revamp a key component of our SaaS offering, our former customer portal:

  • Restructure its code base allowing a correct integration with our web based products;
  • Drive and carry out necessary improvements, guaranteeing a smooth product development, with high efficiency;
  • Maintain, rethink and rework the platform according to the products’ needs.

- Contribute to the current and further development of our web based (Go) products (SaaS platform, Threatcast, …).

Profile:

- Preferably, you have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- You have at least 3 years of extensive experience working with Symfony (PHP) and React.
- Prior experience with Go is a plus, but mostly you have a high interest in learning this technology.
- You are not afraid of a technical challenge, you like to dig into code and you possess excellent problem solving skills.
- You are able to take the reins of a project and take initiative, enhancing your skills and guiding important changes and improvements.
- You excel at team collaboration and translating technical needs and changes to a team with a different technical background;
- You have excellent communication skills in English.

What Guardsquare offers you:

- A full time job with a competitive salary package
- You are provided with the tools & flexibility to develop yourself successfully
- An international environment where you will interact with motivated & open colleagues with different backgrounds
- A workplace where you can share and implement your ideas
- A hybrid work policy, which helps guarantee an excellent work-life balance

At Guardsquare, we take pride in being a diverse and multicultural company with team members representing numerous nationalities. We value different perspectives and opinions throughout the business, contributing to our being the market leader in mobile application security.

You will be part of a dynamic team that strives for excellence and focuses on continuous education and enhancement in skills. We encourage & empower our trusted colleagues to share their opinions, actively collaborate, and continue to learn and grow.
