The partnership has supported the rapid expansion of AutoProff's solutions across Europe and enables the creation of Europe's first fully integrated C2B-B2B-B2C dealing solution for used cars. At AutoProff, we specialize in providing online B2B used-car dealing solutions designed to improve the buying and selling experience for professional car dealers and their customers. We’re looking for a new colleague to join our Tech & Product organization as our new Engineering Manager — someone who’s passionate about people, technology, and building things that matter. The position can be based at either our HQ in Vejle or smaller office in Copenhagen, and with flexibility to work from home 1-2 days per week.

About the Role

You will balance technical proficiency with strong leadership and a clear focus on creating value for both internal and external users. Your mission is to support the growth of squads and engineers, enabling them to build world-class products that solve real user problems.

You will work closely with product, business, and technology stakeholders to identify and validate opportunities, helping shape feasibility and solution design. Acting as a facilitator and sparring partner, you contribute to finding the best path forward for teams and the organization as a whole.

You will also front the teams during discovery phases and technical validation of new ideas, technologies, and integrations. This includes helping assess feasibility, risks, and trade-offs early on, and ensuring teams have clear technical direction when exploring new solutions.

You will create the conditions for teams and individuals to do their best work. You lead through trust, clarity, and collaboration, helping squads grow, deliver, and create real value for our users.

  • Build and grow strong engineering squads by hiring, motivating, and developing talented engineers.
  • Develop a deep understanding of individual strengths, motivations, and growth opportunities, and support continuous development.
  • Identify skill and experience gaps and guide recruitment to ensure the right capabilities are in place.
  • Take a leading role in shaping and executing the technology strategy within your teams.
  • Help guide technical decisions that balance quality, scalability, and time-to-market.
  • Set and maintain high standards of software quality through strong engineering practices.
  • Foster strong collaboration across product, tech, and business to drive alignment and value creation.
  • Help define and continuously improve ways of working, including agile practices and CI/CD.
  • Track relevant KPIs and promote a culture of open communication, trust, and continuous learning

What we’re looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Several years of experience in software development, with hands-on exposure to modern technologies and distributed systems.
  • Proven experience in a technical leadership role, including people management and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of agile methodologies and modern software development lifecycles.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS), microservices, and full-stack development.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, and evolving environment.
