About the Role
We're looking for a dynamic Manager of DevOps Engineering (Observability & DevX) to lead two critical functions within our engineering operations. You will manage the teams responsible for our observability platform and our developer experience tools, ensuring that our systems are highly reliable and our developers are empowered with efficient workflows. In this role, you'll set the strategy and technical direction for monitoring, logging, CI/CD, and automation initiatives across the organization. Reporting to Director Engineering leadership, you will mentor and grow your team, coordinate cross-team projects, and drive continuous improvement in infrastructure and processes.
What You'll Do
Apply - Lead and mentor a team of DevOps/SRE engineers focused on Observability (monitoring, logging, alerting) and Developer Experience (CI/CD pipelines, internal developer tools).
- Define the roadmap and vision for observability and developer productivity, aligning projects with business goals and engineering needs.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and operation of our monitoring and logging infrastructure, ensuring robust visibility into system health and performance.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks that enable fast, safe deployments and improve developer workflows.
- Collaborate with other engineering and product leaders to drive cross-functional initiatives and ensure reliability and efficiency are built into our services from the ground up.
- Establish and enforce best practices for infrastructure management, incident response, and post-mortems, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Lead initiatives to define and implement AI tooling and standards across the company, ensuring developers have access to robust, scalable, and secure AI platforms.
- Partner with engineering and product leaders to integrate AI-driven solutions into developer workflows, enhancing productivity and innovation.
- 8+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineering roles, including several years in a leadership or managerial capacity.
- Proven experience leading high-performing technical teams, including hiring talent, managing performance, and developing engineers’ skills.
- Strong expertise in observability practices and tools (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack) and a deep understanding of SRE principles and metrics (SLIs/SLOs).
- Extensive experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation, with hands-on knowledge of tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI, and modern Infrastructure as Code practices.
- Comprehensive knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS and/or GCP) and container orchestration (Kubernetes), and experience leveraging them to build scalable systems.
- Excellent strategic planning and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize initiatives, manage budgets, and make data-driven decisions.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities, with a track record of working effectively across teams (development, QA, product) and with stakeholders at various levels.
- Passion for automation, reliability, and enabling developer efficiency, combined with a continuous improvement mindset and the ability to drive cultural change.
Preferred (Not Essential)
