Job Description:

Our Cloud Operations Engineer will play a key role in infrastructure and operational support, ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of our cloud-based systems. This remote position is ideal for a hands-on, detail-oriented engineer who thrives in collaborative environments and enjoys automating and optimizing cloud operations. The role involves monitoring services, responding to incidents, and continuously improving our cloud infrastructure.

What You’ll Do:

  • Monitor cloud systems and services using Datadog, SolarWinds DPA, and Azure Monitor
  • Triage and respond to alerts and incidents, performing initial troubleshooting
  • Escalate complex issues to senior engineers or development teams with clear documentation
  • Participate in post-incident reviews and support root cause analysis
  • Maintain and improve incident response playbooks and runbooks
  • Write and maintain lightweight scripts to automate operational tasks
  • Assist in provisioning and de-provisioning cloud resources in Azure
  • Perform routine cloud management tasks such as instance resizing and storage configuration
  • Ensure resource tagging, cost optimization, and general cloud hygiene
  • Collaborate with DevOps, Security, and Engineering teams to support deployments and operational reliability
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall goals and objectives of the department/company

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience supporting SaaS applications in cloud environments (Azure preferred)
  • Experience scripting in Python, Bash, or PowerShell
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform and ARM templates
  • Experience with observability tools like Datadog and SolarWinds
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and release automation
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, particularly in remote environments
  • Ability to participate in a rotating 24/7 on-call schedule
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to solving problems
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
