Flight Itinerary (About The Role)

We are looking for Software Engineers to join our Dynamic Pricing product team.

Our Dynamic Pricing product distributes ML-powered price points in real-time to airline price consumers. FLYR’s product ensures airlines are selling their products at the optimal price and driving maximum revenue uplift on their ticket sales. FLYR’s product provides next-gen capabilities that bring real-time data science to travel shopping searches. Our Dynamic Pricing product allows airlines to replace existing legacy systems that fail to deliver the dynamic and personalized pricing needed today. Our distribution product powers all channels - both existing distribution interfaces and new direct sales - to optimize the products and prices behind the consumer flight shopping experience.

What Your Journey Will Look Like (Responsibilities)
  • Own the technical vision and direction for projects within the team, and contribute to architectural decisions across teams when appropriate. 
  • Anticipate cross-cutting concerns (e.g., scalability, observability, cost, developer experience) and ensure alignment with company-wide engineering standards. 
  • Be involved in the entire software development lifecycle, from design to deployment. 
  • Assist with coding/story estimates. Champion code quality by setting high standards in code reviews. 
  • Mentor junior engineers, provide technical guidance, and foster a learning culture. Be involved in sharing knowledge through documentation, demos, or internal talks.
  • Take ownership of ambiguous problems, drive them to resolution, and communicate  outcomes clearly.
  • Actively seek ways to enhance the components or systems you work on by facilitating smoother development of new features. 
  • Play a pivotal role in accelerating team productivity by identifying and addressing issues that may be slowing down progress.
  • Lead small projects or teams, oversee activities like running team meetings and produce project status reports. 
  • Effectively partner with Product Managers, Designers, and other engineering teams to scope, plan, and deliver complex initiatives. Communicate trade-offs and make architectural decisions in partnership with stakeholders. 
  • Explore and introduce new tools, frameworks, or approaches that improve developer workflows or system performance. 
What To Pack For This Trip (Qualifications)
  • 2-5 years of Golang experience, including designing concurrent systems, performance profiling, and debugging. 
  • 2-3 years of Postgres experience 
  • 2-3 years of Redis experience and solid understanding of use cases, data structures, and performance tuning.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and optimize data models and complex SQL queries in PostgreSQL. 
  • Familiarity with message queues (e.g., Pub/Sub) and event-driven architecture.
  • Strong experience working with microservices, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and containerized environments (e.g., Kubernetes). 
  • Exposure to or fluency in observability tools (e.g., OpenTelemetry, Datadog) and system-level monitoring.
