Overview

As a Lead Front-End Web Engineer at Xebia, you will leverage your deep expertise in Next.js to design and implement complex, scalable front-end architectures. You will guide teams using advanced Next.js features to build high-performance, modular, and engaging web applications. This is an excellent opportunity for engineers with a strong consulting background who are passionate about leading technical initiatives and shaping the future of web development. 

Responsibilities: 

• Architect, design, develop, and maintain front-end solutions. 
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver seamless, high-performance user interfaces that meet client requirements. 
• Provide technical direction on implementing modular and reusable components. 
• Drive the adoption of best practices in front-end architecture, including optimization for performance and scalability. 
• Lead troubleshooting efforts and resolve complex front-end issues across various environments. 
• Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance to the team. 
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and frameworks to enhance the web development process. 

Requirements: 

Basics: 

• 6+ years of experience in front-end development, with a strong focus on Next.js. 
• Expertise in advanced Next.js features: App Router, Pages Router, module federation, micro frontends, caching strategies, and middleware. 
• Proven knowledge of Next.js rendering strategies (ISR, SSR, CSR) and the ability to determine the best approach for different scenarios. 
• Experience with implementing A/B testing and performance optimization using middleware and caching. 
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work within a cross-functional team. 
• Familiarity with version control systems like Git. 

Recommended: 

• Proficiency in ReactJS, JavaScript, and TypeScript. 
• Solid understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design principles. 
• Experience with RESTful APIs and integrating them into front-end applications. 

Nice to have: 

• Experience with performance optimization and accessibility best practices. 
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing in a front-end context. 
• Understanding of security concerns in front-end development. 
• Willingness to work across diverse environments and contribute to backend development when needed.
